You step out of Cape Town traffic into an open window of vineyards: sunlight slices between vines, mountain ridgelines push the sky upward, and the air smells faintly of cut grass and fermenting grapes. The drive toward Stellenbosch eases you into the rhythm of the Winelands—slow conversation, the clink of glasses, and guides who point out varietals as if naming old friends.
