You cut through humid morning air as a minivan leaves Bukit Lawang and the jungle closes in — vines drape like ropes and a river’s voice grows louder. Two hours from town you reach a remote basecamp where guides fit life jackets and point down a short trail: the canyon waits.

Expect about 2 hours driving each way from Bukit Lawang to basecamp, a 15-minute walk to the river, 3–4 hours of canyoning, and a short walk back to the carpark.
Not recommended for children under 7; the activity includes jumps, cold pools and technical moves unsuitable for very young participants.
