About This Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable 14km canoeing adventure along the stunning River Derwent, navigating gentle rapids and picturesque scenery. With expert guides teaching you paddling skills, this five-star experience includes a delightful lunch stop at the historic Cromford Mills, making it a perfect blend of excitement and exploration.

Duration: 6 Hours This awesome experience includes a journey down a 14km section of the River Derwent from Darley Dale to Whatstandwell.

Stunning scenery gives way to small grade rapids as you navigate your Venture Canoes through the twists and turns of this grade 1/2 river.

Our canoes are very user friendly, stable and manoeuvrable, you'll pick up the art of paddling in no time. You'll be guided downstream by one of our experienced river guides, who using their own canoe will teach you the skills you'll need to enjoy this five star canoeing experience.

How To Prepare

  • Once booked, read your confirmation email and share the info with your group

  • Bring a pare of old trainers to wear during your activity... these will get wet and muddy

  • Check the forecast for the day and prepare accordingly... e.g if it's sunny bring sun cream

  • Please ensure to bring any medication you may require for any existing medical conditions

  • Arrive in what you wish to wear under your wetsuit or waterproofs... e.g swimwear or tight gym wear
