We suggest the following destinations for you half day hire up to 4 hours

Pangbourne: Further upstream than the suggested half day trip to Mapledurham, Pangbourne is approximately 5 miles from Thames Canoe Hire. An ideal day trip, paddling upstream to Mapledurham Lock, where the lock keeper will help to guide you through, before carrying on to Pangbourne. Go through Whitchurch Lock to arrive at the Swan Inn, an ideal place for food, drinks and watching the world go by - just make sure you don’t abandon your journey like Jerome K Jerome’s Three Men in a Boat and leave enough time for the return trip!

Sonning Bridge: An extension to the half day trip to Caversham, Sonning Bridge is approximately 5.5 miles downstream of Thames Canoe Hire and the same back unless you would like a longer stay and you can arrange collection from Sonning for an extra fee. After passing through Caversham Lock, you leave behind the built-up central Reading area and head towards Sonning Lock before arriving at Sonning Bridge. Check out on line for more details about Sonning including places of interest, pubs and restaurants.
