A ribbon of road carves the edge of the sea and the driver slows; sunlight slashes across blue water and white houses stacked like postcards. On a full-day private tour from Naples, travelers move along the SS163, dropping into Positano’s steep alleys, pausing at cliffside overlooks, and tracing terraces of lemon and olive trees that have been cut into the limestone for centuries.
easy.
8 hours.
Suitable for most fitness levels; requires short walks on uneven, stair-filled streets.
The tour departs from Naples (pickup at a city address or port) and returns to the original drop-off point at the end of the day.
The standard itinerary focuses on town visits and viewpoints; brief beach stops are possible but swimming time is limited unless pre-arranged.
Admission is generally not included; the tour includes transport, commentary, bottled water and driver services—bring funds for museum or cathedral entries.
Infants can ride but may need to sit on laps; many towns have steep steps and limited wheelchair access, so mobility restrictions can limit what you can see on foot.
Amalfi was a powerful maritime republic in the Middle Ages; its cathedral and archival traditions reflect a blend of Byzantine and Norman influences.
The coast faces pressure from mass tourism and coastal development; visitors help by using public paths, avoiding litter, and supporting local businesses that follow sustainable practices.
