Our Milford Sound Heritage Day Tour will share our history so that you will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of this remarkable area.
Our guides will share their local knowledge and stories while showing you how the pioneers of Fiordland made it possible for Tourism in this region to flourish. Let us take you back in time for this truly unique experience.
We will pick you up from right outside your accommodation around 9.00am (pick ups from private addresses available).
Keeping the group size to 16 passengers makes this tour very personal and enables our guides to really show you everything the Fiordland National Park has on offer. This tour stops at least 12 times along the way for photo opportunities and walks through the heart of Fiordland.
At Milford Sound we join the 1hour 45min Boutique Small Boat Cruise. The best thing about Milford Sound Cruises is that the weather doesn’t matter! On a sunny day, it is beautiful and on a wet day it is spectacular! Fiordland has some of the worlds highest waterfalls and they are a popular feature of Milford Sound. In all weather, you will see water cascading down massive cliffs into the sea. Relax with complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits and enjoy the skipper’s commentary while marvelling at the breath-taking scenery. The smaller size of the vessel enables us to get you up close and personal with the local wildlife like New Zealand Fur Seals, dolphins and the very rare Fiordland Crested Penguin (spring/early summer). A “Glacial Facial” under the Sterling Falls is an experience not to be missed.
We will drop you back in Te Anau just in time for dinner around 6pm.
Tours are capped at 16 people, allowing for personalized attention and a relaxed pace with ample time for photography and walks.
