We start at James Gandon's Customs House, a masterpiece, of 1780s Georgian architecture.
We'll explain the meaning and symbolism of the beautiful decoration that adorns his legendary building.
We'll then walk you along the quays, exploring different aspects of area's rich often tragic history, from trade and invasion, from emigration to deportations, from famine ships to some superb modern art.
We'll also look at the way the quays themselves developed and evolved, over the last 300-400 hundred years, and will visit Ireland's smallest museum!
We'll learn how the area around Hanover Quay transformed from a smoldering, blackened, toxic wasteland into one of the wealthiest office and corporate areas in Europe.
All along our route we'll see and learn about outstanding buildings, by some of the best and most famous architects and designers in the world.
