The boat eases away from the shoreline as the city’s glass towers shrink behind you and the Gulf’s eastern swell starts to rock the deck. By mid-afternoon, you’re anchored off Fujairah’s coral slopes; sunlight strips gold across plate corals and the water smells of salt and warm stone. Two afternoon dives peel back the reef’s daytime rhythms — parrotfish scraping, cleaner wrasses darting, and walls scalloped with gorgonians — then the dive crew flips on the shore BBQ and the shore breeze carries the smell of grilled fish and flatbread.
