About This Adventure

Fresh Air Fridays (FAF) invites kids in grades 1-5 to explore adventure, art, and science in the great outdoors. With exciting activities like cross-country skiing, ice skating, and time capsule creation, this program fosters community and empowers children through skill-building, all while ensuring a safe and supervised environment.

Fresh Air Fridays (FAF) is all about fresh air and FUN! This program is offered across the KMTA region to local families with kids in kindergarten to fifth grade. FAF offers adventure, art, science, outdoor skill-building, and other activities with a goal to build community, foster pride of place, empower kids through skill-building, and support families with safe and supervised fun for their kids.

Fresh Air Fridays is back for the 2024-25 school year! We are retaining the month-long series program model, but have added the ability to sign up for individual program dates.

Behavior Expectations

KMTA adheres to and applies behavior expectations and progressive behavior and discipline policies. KMTA does not tolerate behavior that threatens the physical or emotional safety of self or others, destructive behavior, or behavior that impedes other participants from engaging in the program to the full extent. Should a participant display these behaviors, KMTA will contact their parent/legal guardian. If the behavior continues, KMTA will request immediate pick up and the participant will be dismissed for the duration of the program.

Please keep in mind that we are not trained as special needs educators, and while we can accommodate many different learning styles, we are not equipped for children that need 1:1 guidance, as our ratios are between 6:1 and 12:1. If your child runs away, is nonverbal, has difficulty differentiating safe situations/action from unsafe ones, and/or has trouble adhering to safety instructions this is not the best-suited program for your child.
