The instruction emphasizes practical skills—pop-up mechanics, timing, and ocean awareness—so participants graduate from nervous beginners to paddlers who can read sets and position themselves for a wave. Because the meeting time is early and the group cap is sixteen, you get focused feedback without crowded lineups. Burleigh’s headland and the adjacent Burleigh Head National Park are as much part of the lesson as the surf.
