About

Warsaw is without doubt the city of Frederic Chopin. His heritage is visible in multiple places in the Polish capital.

Your eyes will be pleased with the beautiful and relaxing surroundings of the Lazienki Royal Park, and your ears, from May till September, with live concerts that are held every summer on Sundays at 12pm and 4pm (free of charge). Also there you will see the famous Frederic Chopin Monument which was the first statue destroyed in Warsaw during World War II. According to local legend, the following sign was found the day after: “I don’t know who destroyed me, but I know why: so that I won’t play the funeral march for your leader.” You will take a look at the Ostrogski’s Castle where the Chopin Museum is located and then at the Zamoyski Palace from which Russian soldiers threw Chopin’s grand piano out of the window onto the street. This fact was commemorated by a Polish writer in one of the poems in which we can read that “The Ideal – has reached the street”. Chopin’s music will lead you through the Royal Route where you can hear his heart beating from the Basilica of the Holy Cross. The Palace of Radzwill (nowadays the Presidential Palace) is the place where he played his first concert. You will also take a walk through the Saxon Garden where Chopin met his first love.

5-hour tour This tour in enriched by entering the Chopin Museum. Its exhibition will let you jump back in time and imagine the life of the famous Polish composer.
