Enjoy a unique experience as you join our crew on the loco footplate from Pant to Torpantau (5 miles). Experience the locomotive working hard on one of the steepest sections of Heritage Railway in the UK. You will return in the carriage on the way back.

Please note, departure times may vary slightly. Experiences are on Loco No.2 only, and run at certain times of the year.
Participants must:
Be aged over 18 years. Be physically and mentally fit enough to climb on and off the locomotive from ground level unaided. Wear overalls or old cotton clothing that fully covers your arms and legs. Wear sturdy shoes / boots that protect your feet – trainers are definitely not permitted. Must not consume alcohol in the 12 hour period leading up to the ride / course or during the Footplate Experience.
Participants must wear overalls or fully covering clothing and solid footwear—trainers are not allowed to ensure safety on the locomotive.
You will need to climb on and off the locomotive unaided; moderate physical fitness is required to handle this safely.
No alcohol consumption is permitted within 12 hours prior or during the Footplate Experience for safety reasons.
Trips operate on Loco No. 2 at set times and seasons; verify your scheduled departure to avoid missing out.
