You kick the Vespa into life outside Florence and the city’s stone facades and river traffic shrink behind you. The little engine hums as you climb toward Piazzale Michelangelo; the Arno’s flat ribbon glints below and the hills ahead open into bands of olive trees, vineyards and sun-warmed stone farmhouses.

Yes, helmets are included with the Vespa rental and are mandatory for all participants.

The route traverses southern Florence’s historic agricultural outskirts and Chianti Classico land whose vineyards and farmsteads have been shaped by centuries of Tuscan viticulture and Medici-era estate consolidation.
Stick to paved and designated roads, respect private vineyard property and minimize noise; small-group motor tours reduce impact compared with large coach tours and help keep local roads quieter.
