Your bike adventure starts in the heart of the historic centre. We’ll ride along the pretty avenues, known as Lungarni (literally meaning “along the Arno”) towards the River Arno and breathtaking views that are typical of this magical city. We will then begin the easy ascent towards one of the most iconic panoramas in the world, passing an enchanting Rose Garden as we go, a peaceful green space overlooking the city that offers fantastic photo opportunities. We will then arrive at Piazzale Michelangelo, otherwise known as the most romantic terrace in the city, which offers unparalleled views over the city skyline. Greenery and spectacular views abound as we continue our ride, stopping to admire San Miniato Al Monte, the oldest church in Florence. As we head back into the city, we will visit the buzzing Oltrarno neighbourhood (which literally means “the other side of the Arno river”), and the nightlife hotspots of Santo Spirito and San Frediano, where the locals prefer to go for an aperitif at sunset. Get the lowdown on the artisan side of the city as we admire craft shops before heading to the majestic Pitti Palace, via secret corners of the city that hide fascinating and sometimes murderous stories. We will end our tour with joy by inviting you to participate in the all-Italian tradition of the Aperitivo in your guide’s favourite local bar. Here you will taste some Florentine specialties and wine as we toast to an afternoon well spent.
