About

In this class, participants will be introduced to a variety of Maine fermented products and hear the stories of the innovative producers behind them - while sampling their delicious products!

Your Maine Tasting Center guide will walk you through a snack-sized tasting menu of fermented products - featured products will vary week to week, but you may see sauerkraut, kimchi, vinegars, miso, black garlic, garum or other similar products. Feeling thirsty? A curated local adult beverage flight designed to pair with the tasting menu is available for purchase on-site for guests ages 21+.

This guided, 30-60 minute experience is a fantastic introduction to Maine's fermented flavors and the history and culture behind them. We recommend scheduling this class at the beginning of your time in Maine so you can take advantage of all you've learned during the rest of your trip. Stick around afterwards for personalized recommendations from your MTC host about wineries, breweries, markets, farms and other agritourism experiences to seek out while in Maine - customized to your interests and the regions you plan to visit while in Maine.
