Producers across the state are harnessing the power of fermentation to create an amazing array of value-add products! In this class, participants will be introduced to a variety of Maine fermented products and hear the stories of the innovative producers behind them - while sampling their delicious products!
Your Maine Tasting Center guide will walk you through a snack-sized tasting menu of fermented products - featured products will vary week to week, but you may see sauerkraut, kimchi, vinegars, miso, black garlic, garum or other similar products. Feeling thirsty? A curated local adult beverage flight designed to pair with the tasting menu is available for purchase on-site for guests ages 21+.
This guided, 30-60 minute experience is a fantastic introduction to Maine's fermented flavors and the history and culture behind them.
