Surfing at Suds Surf School

Surfing is one of the world's most popular sports, because it is fun, exhilarating but also challenging! Whether you are a beginner looking to stand up on a wave, an intermediate looking to surf a green wave, or an aspiring tube-rider, Suds Surf school will be able to choose the correct conditions, provide ideal equipment and offer professional tuition in a relaxed and fun manner to help you achieve your goals.

Safety is always a priority so we carefully choose the location of your lessons according to conditions and the ability of the group. Lessons include coaching on water safety, including rip currents and surf etiquette. The instructor is in the water with you at all times to offer continuous advice and coaching.

Lessons are offered to all ages - we don't believe anyone is too young or old to try surfing! If younger than 8 years old, a parent will be given a wetsuit and must assist the child in the water or a 1:1 lesson can be arranged. Participants must be able to swim unaided. Lessons are 2 hours, unless stated otherwise.

Adventure Tips

Arrive Early for Check-In

Give yourself time to get fitted with wetsuits and receive a safety briefing before hitting the water.

Warm Up Thoroughly

Take 10 minutes before your lesson to stretch and loosen muscles, enhancing balance and reducing injury risk.

Mind the Tides

Surf conditions at Sandend change with the tide, so follow instructor advice for optimal wave timing.

Stay Hydrated

Even in cool weather, being hydrated helps maintain energy and focus during physical activity in cold water.
