Boarding a low-slung felucca as the city shifts from heat to gold is immediate and intimate: palm shadows lengthen, mosque minarets puncture the sky, and the Nile slips past like a slow-moving mirror. The sail catches an evening breeze and the boat heels gently, giving you a private ribbon of water to watch Luxor’s lights slowly appear on both banks.
