The session starts with an in-depth, up-close and fascinating introduction to falconry and at least 7 different birds of prey, safely tethered on the grass. During this talk, you will handle at least 2 different birds while learning all about their individual superpowers and role in falconry and how to identify them in the wild!
Next you participate in the mind-blowing and heart-stopping flying/handling experience on our adjoining 4-acre field, showing our falconry birds as they are trained/flown in this 7,000-yr-old tradition where man and apex predator hunt together. The entire experience is as magical an event as you can have!
##More Info Everyone gets a chance to handle the birds and fly the ones we are currently flying. For those too young or afraid, you still get to see them up close and personal. Given the handling of the birds, we cannot allow participants under the age of 6 years old without prior approval. No unpaid observers are allowed!
##Please Note Our classes take place outdoors. BRING water, sun block and bug spray. We have a strict dress-code in place for the birds' wellbeing. Wear neutral color clothing, no skirts or billowing fabric, nothing fuzzy or furry. NO BRIGHT COLORS, neon anything, pink, red, orange. Wear greys, dark blues, brown, black.
##TOUR RESTRICTION Please note that our regular Falconry 101 requires a minimum of 3 participants ($450) to carry out the group experience. If 48 hrs prior to the experience the minimum attendance is not reached, you will be notified via text and offered the choice to pay a total of $450 for a Private Falconry 101 or the chance to reschedule to another date with more participants. If you are only in town for that date, you will be offered a refund if minimum attendance is not met and you do not wish to do the Private Falconry 101.
