Outside our ticket office on the Royal Mile your entertaining, charismatic guide will welcome you and introduce their historical character. From there your tour will work its way through the Old Town’s squares, wynds and closes, your guide relating the chilling stories connected to these historic sites.
At the end of George IV Bridge enter the mysterious Greyfriars Kirkyard, reputed to be the World’s most haunted cemetery, after dark… Hear about the famous poltergeist, bodysnatchers who got more when they bargained for when they disturbed the dead and notorious serial killers Burke and Hare.
As midnight draws near leave modern Edinburgh behind by going below South Bridge to a section of underground vaults. See eighteenth-century bridge arches and seventeenth-century stonework and fireplaces come together and people walk right above you through the skylight. Be on your guard for the long departed souls said to still linger in these murky chambers. Remember what goes on underground stays underground! After 80 minutes of unforgettable sights and frights, your guide will say farewell and lead you back to the ticket office… If you survive!
