Dawn over Bishkek feels like a starting bell: the city loosens into the long road toward the high lakes and gorges of the Tien Shan. You’ll move from the Boom Gorge’s clay walls to the wind-swept shore of Issyk‑Kul, ride through spruce forests to the steaming pools of Altyn Arashan, and sleep in traditional yurts on the broad Son‑Kul plateau.

Good baseline fitness: daily drives plus several 2–5 hour hikes at up to 3,500 m; able to handle 4–6 hours on feet during active days.
No technical mountaineering experience is required, but you should be comfortable walking several hours at altitude and be prepared for simple alpine trails.
The tour mixes 4* hotels, guesthouses, and nights in traditional yurt camps; some stays are basic, especially at high lakes.
The Altyn Arashan ride is generally accessible to beginners, but riders should inform guides of experience and any mobility limits.
Night temperatures on Son‑Kul and Kel‑Suu can drop below freezing even in summer; in shoulder seasons and winter, temperatures fall well below −10 to −20°C.
