About

Based on the rivalry between the two most prominent figures of the Baroque Era, Bernini and Borromini, this stroll around Rome will take you to see their works as sculptors, mostly housed in churches, and the buildings they designed as architects, in the 1600’s, which practically set the layout of Rome. The greatest example is Piazza Navona, where Bernini did the Fountain of the Four Rivers and Borromini did the façade of the Church of St. Agnes, one of Rome’s highlights. But there is also much more to see like the tomb of Giovanni Vigevano and the Memorial to Maria Raggi by Bernini in the Church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva or the Church of Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza designed by Borromini.
