Come join us on a Winter Wildlife tour from Cody, WY. This sightseeing driving tour does not include Yellowstone (Yellowstone is closed to road travel during winter) however we still see a ton of wildlife in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem just outside the park.
We have two separate routes offered different days of the week from Cody, WY- (see below)
M, W, F: Buffalo Bill Scenic Hwy- On this tour we typically take visitors up the Northfork Hwy aka Buffalo Bill Hwy and stop at special viewpoints along the way using our experienced eye to spot wildlife such as: Elk, Bison, Bighorn Sheep, Pygmy Owls, Eagles, Wolves, Otters and more. It truly is a winter wonderland and we almost always see Elk, Bison and Bighorn Sheep.
T, Th: Chief Joseph Scenic Byway- Here, we drive north out of Cody to the beautiful Chief Joseph Scenic Byway where we go up over Dead Indian's pass and down the mountain into Sunlight and Clark's Fork Basin. Conditions permitting we will drive into Sunlight Creek wildlife management area which is a common place for Moose sightings and Elk. This tour contains incredible scenery and serene places.
Driving can be slick and windy on these road so our guides will know the way in our AWD van. Come, let us show you "The Most Scenic Drive in America" as President Teddy Roosevelt said and other areas surrounding Cody.
