During our tour, we will be paddling in the Atlantic Ocean near the Dania Beach Pier. A guide will be with you every step of the way as we snorkel along the natural and artificial reefs. The natural reef stretches for miles along the coast; however, the artificial reefs are only in two small locations known to locals. The artificial reef is made of giant concrete jax, starting near shore and going out over 1,000 feet, ending at the natural reef. These locations are very popular with local divers for hunting fish to spear or lobsters to grab while in season. This area is the perfect place to find rare marine life and explore our beautiful reefs.
First we will meet near the Dania Beach Pier for some brief instructions on what to expect, safety information, where we will be paddling and snorkeling to. After we all know each other a little better and have been fully briefed we will begin to prepare our gear for the day. This includes airing up our extra large stand up paddle board. Each one is large enough for ten people or 1050 pounds/ 477 kilos. Once we are all geared up we are ready to hit the water. We will all carry the equipment together into the water and begin paddling out. We will be snorkeling on natural and artificial reefs depending on the current and clarity of the water that day. These spots are only known by locals. You will not find any generic commercial charters here. Our depths will range from 10 ft/3mts to about 20ft/6mts. We will be spotting many things along the way such as Stingrays, sea turtles, many types of fish, jellyfish, conchs, maybe even a giant manta ray or a moray eel. When we are all finished we will head back to the beach for a nice fruit snack and some drinks. Other things to note: Guests should be comfortable in the water and should know how to swim. If you have any questions please ask!!
Note: Children who sit on your lap are free!
You should be ideally dressed in a bathing suit because you will get wet no matter how careful you are. If you do not want to get tan lines, it is better to wear a long-sleeved shirt underneath your swimsuit. We will also suggest you wear a hat so that you don't feel the heat of the sun when we get into the middle of the ocean. Sunscreen with an SPF of a minimum of 30 is recommended to protect your face and body from tan lines and heat rashes. We will suggest you wear your comfy aqua shoes during the tour, and if you don't have them, you can wear your sports sandals. If you are coming to Miami during winter, you should carry a windbreaker and a sweater to beat the chilly breeze of the ocean.
Always verify local weather and sea conditions before setting out to ensure safe paddling and snorkeling experiences.
