Starting at a private parking lot on woods road in Wilmington, hike up old logging roads to a spot very few get to see. This is a challenging hike that will get your heart rate up. It’s all worth the effort when you get to the top and look south across the valley. The valley is known as the freezing hole by old time Vermonters. Along the way you will learn about the trees and animals that make up this part of Vermont’s National forest. You will also learn about the history of Wilmington and the Boyd’s who were literally among the first to settle along the Deerfield river in the valley below. Hot coco and snacks will be provided.
