The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is delivered in partnership between DOC and Ngāti Hikairo ki Tongariro of Ngāti Tūwharetoa. Bookings are recommended for all visitors using any part of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing track. Go to the Department of Conservation website to book and receive your DoC customer number.

20 minutes transfer from Whakapapa Holiday Park to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing trail beginning Mangatepopo. 35 minutes transfer from the Ketetahi trail end back to Whakapapa Village.
