Come join Connecticut College Alumni, Faculty and Staff from around the area for an evening of fun and fellowship on the Thames hosted by Connecticut College Office of Advancement. Gather your family and friends or travel solo, enjoy a complimentary beverage and light snacks or bring your favorite beverage of choice and hop aboard Thames River Heritage Park's authentic navy utility boat for a relaxing cruise down the Thames. We’ll take you to where the Thames meets the Sound for an enjoyable and scenic ride past battlefields, forts, heritage sites and more. Who knows ... you might even spot a submarine!

Arrival Time & Confirmation Please arrive at dock 15 minutes before cruise for check-in. Be sure to allow time for parking and potential traffic. Following your purchase, you will receive an email with your confirmation. Present this to the boat crew when boarding the boat.

Food & Beverage Feel free to bring snacks and drinks aboard, but glass is prohibited. Also please know that there is no bathroom on the water taxi.

Directions and Parking

This boat tour departs from City Pier in New London. Your boat tour aboard the Thames River Heritage Park Water Taxi departs from City Pier located in the Waterfront Park at 1 Water Street, New London, CT 06320 - directly behind the train station. After parking, cross the railroad tracks to the right of Union Station, bear left and proceed onto City Pier to the gangway (ramp) located to your left on the north side of City Pier. Thames River Heritage Park's water taxi boards and debarks from the finger pier located at the end of the dock.

There are five options for parking near City Pier:

  1. Water Street Garage - 160 Water St, New London, CT 06320
  2. Municipal Parking Lot - 1-11 Eugene O'Neill Dr, New London, CT 06320 (Free from 6 PM Friday - 6 AM Monday)
  3. Street Parking on State
  4. Street Street Parking on Bank Street Street

Tour Minimum / Cancellations / Text Option

Tour Minimum A minimum of 6 paying ticket holders is required for each boat tour.

Cancellations Boat tour tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable unless the tour is cancelled by the Thames River Heritage Park. In that event you will be contacted by the email, text and phone to reschedule to another tour date or to refund the cost of your ticket.
