You arrive to Tabuk as the sun leans into the rocky horizon and the desert exhales heat from the day's climb. Vehicles crunch along red gravel while the jagged silhouette of Jebel Maqla and the Al Lawz peaks loom ahead—ancient stone that seems to remember footsteps.

Most sites on the itinerary are accessible with the tour operator’s permissions; however, some NEOM-managed or protected areas may be restricted—your guide will manage permits and alternative routing if needed.
Daily walks vary from easy cultural site visits to moderate hikes with short steep sections; some optional climbs (e.g., Jebel Maqla peaks) are advised only for fit participants.
The standard itinerary includes two nights at a hotel in Tabuk; camping at the mountain foot is an optional extension for those who prefer an overnight outdoors experience.
Late autumn to spring (October–April) provides the most comfortable temperatures for hiking; summer brings extreme heat and requires early starts and careful hydration.
Local tradition and 19th–20th century explorers identified Al Lawz and Jebel Maqla with Mount Horeb/Sinai; the area also preserves Nabatean and pre-Islamic rock art and graves.
