Two Hours
We welcome educators and students for a guided tour the 1845 Bevans Lead-Zinc Mine, a guided tour of the Rollo Jamison cultural history collections, and a ride in a 1931 mine train (weather permitting). Mine- and train-only options are also available. Content can be customized to the age and interests of the student group, and are either one hour or two hours in length. Content is aligned to the Wisconsin Educator Standards in both Social Studies and Sciences and are designed to meet the needs of your class.
Trails include uneven surfaces near mining pits—closed-toe hiking shoes or boots provide the best traction and protection.
The tours are conducted outdoors with moderate walking; staying hydrated is important, especially in warmer months.
Protective helmets are mandatory for all visitors entering mining tunnel areas for safety reasons.
