About

Our River Shop is located at the headwaters of the French Broad River, the third oldest river in the world! For over 30 years we have been providing family friendly river excursions down this upper stretch of the scenic French Broad River. Thousands of paddlers have explored this peaceful section of the French Broad, which is rated as class I water. It is a perfect river trip for first time paddlers, yet the outstanding scenery beckons seasoned paddlers as well.

You, your family and friends will encounter a lively, yet gentle current with fast-moving shoals and sharp river bends along the way, all part of a natural river environment. This makes this section of the French Broad River a great trip for beginning paddlers and children, or anyone seeking a relaxing river trip. Our Self-Guided 3 Hour Canoeing and Kayaking River Trip is offered daily April – October. On Tuesday's only we offer our 4 Hour, or 7 Hour River Trip by canoe or kayak. Once off the river stop by our family (and leashed dog) friendly Forks of the River Taproom for a cold beverage! If you are hungry check out our rotating, local food trucks for a delicious bite to eat!
