Description

The area covered by the battle of Normandy is extensive. Just to cover the five landing sectors you would have to drive more than 60 miles and don’t forget that D-Day is only the first day of a three-month battle stretching far and wide inland. The Normandy Tourism Organisation counts more than 100 sites, museums, memorials linked to the battle open to the public but every farm, field, and river in Normandy has a historic link to the battle.

I am here to guide you through this wealth of information and knowledge and make your experience unique.

Day 1: American experience on D-Day

  • Sainte-Mère Eglise, its fantastic Airborne Museum and a drive in the surrounding drop zones of the 82nd and 101st US Airborne Divisions
  • Utah Beach and the landing of the 4th US Infantry Division
  • The German coastal gun battery at Pointe-du-Hoc, the heroic cliff assault of the 2nd Ranger Battalion
  • Omaha Beach and the epic struggle of the 1st and 29th US infantry division to get off the beach
  • Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer

Day 2: Canadian experience on D-Day

  • Graye-sur-Mer and the landing of the Royal Winnipeg Rifle Regiment on Juno Beach
  • The Juno Beach Center
  • Bernière-sur-Mer, the landing of the Queen’s Own Rifle of Canada and the Régiment de la Chaudière
  • The Canadian Cemetery at Beny-sur-Mer/Reviers

Day 3 : British experience on D-Day
