24–26 Hours
Big Eye Special- Leave at 12:00 Noon and return the following day early afternoon. Booking this trip requires a three-day window commitment. We will fish the best two out of three days at the captain’s discretion. We’ll troll the canyon walls during sunset and sunrise when the bigeye is out hunting. Most bigeye are caught just before dark or at first light. when squid and other bait begin moving closer to the surface at those times. Bigeye tuna are one of the most sought-after gamefish in the Northeast Canyons, and we’ll position ourselves directly over the feeding grounds at the optimal time. They often show up in “wolf packs,” wreaking havoc in the spread. The bite is unmistakable and unforgettable, as the water erupts with bomb-like explosions. Depending on the time of year, at night we will chunk and/or set out shark and swordfish lines. On this trip, expect to catch bigeye tuna, yellowfin tuna, bluefin tuna, and longfin tuna. Troll with ballyhoo and/or chunk with butterfish, all bait is included in this package.
