Weave through neighborhood streets on foot and get inspired by the incredible public art that makes Philadelphia the Mural Capital of the World. Professionally-trained guides offer a behind-the-scenes look and share the in-depth stories about the people and communities that inspired and shaped each Mural Arts Philadelphia project. Visitors also learn about the mural-making processes and how the work of the organization has evolved over its nearly 40-year history.

Set among the delicious foods of South Philadelphia and Passyunk Square, the tour explores some of the heart of this historic neighborhood. Guests will be enthralled by the public art that is found on small buildings and walkways and hear the stories behind these murals that are a treat for the eyes and add to the unique landscape of the area. The tour highlights murals such as South Philly Musicians Remix by Eric Okdeah to Joe Boruchow’s Watchtowers – experiencing the juxtaposition of old and new.

This tour leaves from the South Philly Musicians Remix mural at 1532 S Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146 and ends in the vicinity of 12th and Morris Streets, so please plan accordingly.

  • Tour groups will be limited to 15 people or less.
  • Tickets must be purchased in advance - no walk-ups will be accepted. All paid guests' names will appear on a will-call list at check-in.
  • Tours are 90 minutes outdoors, rain or shine and there are no stops for restrooms, so please plan accordingly.
  • It is not necessary for you to print out your confirmation, your guide will have your name on a Will Call list. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure to check-in.
