Explore Skye’s Torabhaig Distillery Warehouse Tour: Whisky, History & Incredible Flavors

At Torabhaig Distillery we have now expanded our operations on-site to include the maturation of an exclusive selection of our whisky. In 2023 we completed our small warehouse which lies snuggled into the landscape between the distillery and the shoreline, very much in keeping with our environment. For 2024 we are going to open up the warehouse as a new experience which we invite people to share with our team when they visit Torabhaig. When booking onto this new, premium tour, you will be afforded all that is offered on our regular tour plus much more. Beginning with the story of Torabhaig, you will go on to explore our production hall, learning from your informative guide how we make Torabhaig Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This will be followed by a tasting of the most recent expression from the Torabhaig Legacy Series in our stylish tasting room. We will then transport you by buggy from the Visitor Centre to the warehouse where we have two specially selected casks waiting to be dipped and tasted. One is a Torabhaig 2018 in a First Fill Bourbon cask the second is Torabhaig 2018 some of which has initially been matured in Bourbon cask and some in Oloroso Sherry butt. Our whisky-maker has blended these two maturations in a Refill Whisky cask for you to taste.
You will learn the back-story to the selections we have chosen to mature at Torabhaig, in close proximity to our distillers and to our production. Including the story of our Journeymen’s expressions and why it is important to us to have these on-site. Finally, we will return you to the Visitor Centre where we will present you with a sample box of the tastings you enjoyed on your tour to take home with you to try again at your leisure.

Important to Know

• We have a grated floor in the production hall, flat shoes to be worn. • We will be taking you to our warehouse in an open-sided vehicle which will not protect you from inclement weather conditions. Therefore, if you have booked onto our warehouse tour, please ensure you have the appropriate outdoor clothing to keep you as warm and dry as possible. Appropriate clothing should include either a long waterproof jacket and/or waterproof trousers as the seating within the vehicle is not protected from the rain. • Limited disabled access, please call us in advance.
