Highlights

• Following the same routes as Ulysses, you will discover the wonders of the Riviera dei Ciclopi, visiting the marine reserve of Acitrezza. This is where Etna was born 500,000 years ago!

Here is the program of our half-day excursion from Catania to Aci Trezza, available in the morning (from 8.50 AM) or in the afternoon (from 1.50 PM).

First stop:

At 9 AM or 2 PM departure from the pier "diporto nautico Etneo" of the port of Catania on board of a Jeanneau Sun Odissey 34.2 sailing boat accompanied by our skipper.

Sailing or motor navigation depending on the marine weather conditions. During the day you will learn the basic principles of sailing.

Second stop:

Passage to the Caves of Ulysses (in the landscape, from the allowed distance).

These are caves formed in a beautiful lava cliff overlooking the sea. The colors of the seabed are wonderful, ranging from blue to light blue to green water.

Third stop:

Navigation to the fishing port of Acitrezza, passing under the medieval castle of Acicastello. The view of the castle from the sea is spectacular. You will be able to observe the characteristic "pillow lavas", present under the castle and due to the rapid cooling of underwater eruptions.

During the trip, you can stop for a swim and a tasty aperitif will be served with local products in oil, bread, cold meats, cheeses and fresh seasonal fruit. Everything will be accompanied by good local white wine.

The return is expected around 1 PM or 6 PM.

• If you think you might be seasick, we kindly ask you to take the pills (Xamamine) or patches from the pharmacy before the tour starts.
• If you do not have snorkeling equipment, we will provide it. Please request this at the time of booking.
