About This Adventure

Experience the thrill of self-guided urban paddling on the scenic Oakland Estuary! Navigate the tranquil waters between Oakland and Alameda, surrounded by stunning views. Choose from a variety of crafts, including kayaks and standup paddle boards, and enjoy a memorable day on the water. Just remember to arrive early and prepare for fun!

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your launch time to check in and fill out any necessary paperwork.

  • Standup Paddle Board (Basic SUP) = $20
  • Hobie Mirage Eclipse (Pedal SUP) - $30 (Limited Availability)
  • Hobie Mirage Single (Pedal Kayak) - $40 (Limited Availability)

What is included:

  • Paddle, PFD (Life Vest), and leash for SUP boards.

For the best experience, you will be placed in a paddle craft suitable to your height and weight. Please contact us if you have concerns.

All the essential information

  • A government-issued ID (i.e., Drivers License or Passport) is required to rent from California Canoe & Kayak.
  • Each renter is required to read and sign a liability release waiver. You may print and fill out this form before arriving or complete it at check-in. To View CCK-ONSITE Rentals Waiver Release. The waiver must be filled out completely.
  • An emergency contact person cannot be on the water with your group.
  • Rentals must return on time.
  • An additional 1/2 day rate will be applied for late returns.
  • Rentals are weather dependent. A last-minute cancellation is possible.
  • No refund or reschedule for late arrivals or no show.
  • A parent or their legal guardian must accompany minors under 18. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • The minimum age for a double kayak with an adult is 5 years.
  • NO ALCOHOL consumption allowed while renting from CCK.
  • Local Sales Tax and Fee will be added to all rentals. An optional paddling jacket and wetsuit are available for an additional charge of $5.00 each.
  • Expect to get wet, bring a change of clothes & towel.

What Bring & Wear While Paddling:

  • Drinking-Water/Snack.
  • Synthetic top and bottom layers (Thermal underwear, heavier weight for cooler weather).
  • Nylon shorts and/or swimsuit for warmer days
  • NO COTTON
  • Rain Jacket, Windbreaker or Paddling Jacket, Rain Pants.
  • Hat, Sunglasses, & retention device.
  • Sunscreen, even on a cloudy day.
  • Water shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Flip-flops are not recommended. Walking around barefoot should be avoided at all times.
  • Towel and a change of clothes after the trip, Expect to get wet.
