About This Adventure

Explore vibrant kelp forests and encounter diverse marine life, including playful sea otters and seals. Enjoy complimentary snacks between dives while diving with friends and family, creating unforgettable memories in California's stunning coastal waters.

Please Note: Fun Dives are not guided and the Dive Leaders are only there to help get everyone in and out of the water safely. California Diving is all about diving with friends and family with the skills you mastered in your open water training.


Description: Monterey Bay and Carmel are world class dive areas with exceptional wildlife that is calling you out to the sea for an amazing day of diving! Combined with our immaculate dive staff you are guaranteed to have a memorable day in the water! Let us lead you on an unforgettable dive through the tall kelp forests, fields of giant white plumed anemones, and cannery pipes overgrown with marine life! Swim with wildlife from sea otters and seals and everything in-between! The Northern and Central California coast is calling your name to show you all she has to offer!

Duration • 4-6 hours • 1-2 Dives

Prerequisites • Open Water Certified in cold water. Otherwise, cold-water experience is required. • At Least 15 years old

We recommend a dive tour before a fun dive if not cold water experienced.

Required Gear

  • Certification card
  • 7mm Wet Suit or Dry Suit
  • Regulator w/ Computer
  • BCD
  • 2 Tanks
  • Weights and/or Weight Belt
  • Mask & Snorkel
  • Booties & Fins
  • Gloves
  • Dive lights (Recommended or required on a night dive) Please Note - SCUBA Equipment is not included with the fun dive. Please reserve your equipment in advance over the phone or when booking your tours.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Parking at the shop in the back of the store in the CVS parking lot.

Parking is not included and most of the dive sites are paid parking so be on the lookout for ways to pay for parking before going out.

All transportation to the dive site and back to the shop is the diver’s responsibility, that includes all gear as well. Please plan accordingly.

Snack & Drinks Enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks in between your dives.


Dive Schedule

• Meet your group at Monterey Bamboo Reef to review the dive site, current condition and equipment. • Once everyone has everything they need and you know what site you're going to, you will load your equipment into your car and meet the dive site. Keep in mind you are responsible for your own transportation to and from the dive site, which also includes your gear • Enjoy an amazing dive and explore the local marine life! • Between dives we will have food, snacks and drinks available to recharge before the last dive of the day! • Upon ending your dives you will return to Bamboo Reef to return any equipment and log your dives.
