Pure Glenorchy Scenic Lord of the Rings Tours is a Queenstown, Otago based operator specializing in guided scenic tours to filming locations from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The company runs three distinct experiences: a 4.5‑hour Lord of the Rings Scenic Tour, a 4‑hour Skippers Canyon Bespoke Tour, and a 10‑hour FULL DAY in Middle Earth. Each itinerary focuses on small‑group travel to maintain personalized attention and access to private sites referenced in film production.
Guides are local and present detailed context about filming locations, landscape features, and regional history. Tours include opportunities for photography at iconic spots, use of replica props for memorable photos, and immersive elements such as replica costumes on the full‑day option. The Skippers Canyon Bespoke Tour includes a historic gold mining trail, views over the Shotover River, tea stops, and a chance to try gold panning. The Lord of the Rings Scenic Tour highlights multiple key filming sites and offers exclusive access to private areas where available.
