About

Never been on a board before? Join us for this 75 minute intro course to learn everything you wanted to know about how to use a Stand-Up Paddleboard. We will teach you the basics of how to stand without falling, proper paddling technique, and much more!

What to Wear

Activewear/quick-dry clothing is best. Bathing Suits are always a good option if you are comfortable doing yoga or paddling in it or rash guards to protect you from the sun. Be prepared to get anything that touches the board to get a little wet. There is also the possibility of falling (or jumping!) into the water.

Age Requirements

All children under the age of 13 are required to wear a life vest by law. Please bring your own coastguard-approved vest. We require all children to be able to swim. Anyone under 9 years old can be put on the parents’ board to ride along.

Adventure Tips

Start with a safety briefing

Ensure you listen closely to your guide’s safety instructions before heading onto the water to stay prepared all trip long.

Wear layered clothing

Dress in moisture-wicking layers to stay comfortable as temperatures can vary on the water.

Bring waterproof sunscreen

Protect exposed skin from UV rays since the open water reflects sunlight intensely.

Keep a slow, steady pace

Maintain controlled movements to conserve energy and keep balance on the paddleboard, especially if you’re new to the sport.
