Personalized shore and boat dives from Lahaina — certified naturalists, max four divers per guide, unforgettable marine encounters.
Extended Horizons Scuba is a Lahaina, Hawaii-based dive operator offering small-group scuba experiences and guided shore and boat dives around Maui and Lana‘i. The company specializes in low guide-to-diver ratios—typically four divers or fewer—so guests receive personalized attention from certified naturalists, marine biologists and experienced dive guides. Trips include shore dives from Lahaina, night dives, certified shore dives, a popular two-tank Lana‘i boat adventure that visits Cathedral dive sites such as First and Second Cathedral, and private and introductory scuba options for beginners.
The Lana‘i two-tank excursion includes two dives at different locations, a warm lunch catered by Chef Marcos from Hungry Coyote, and access to over 40 possible dive sites ranging from coral reefs to lava tubes. Shore-based options highlight local reefs where divers commonly encounter green sea turtles, octopus, colorful nudibranchs, rays and diverse reef fish. Night dives focus on invertebrates such as lobsters, crabs, octopus and hunting eels, using bright LED lights and small groups for ideal visibility and attention.
Introductory lessons require each participant’s name, height, weight and US men’s shoe size to ensure proper equipment fit. Refresher dives take place at Kahekili Reef to rebuild confidence and skills. Extended Horizons Scuba’s offering emphasizes conservation-minded guiding, slow-paced observation to maximize marine life sightings, and guided commentary that shares local marine ecology knowledge with divers of varied experience. Tours run year-round out of Lahaina waters.
“Every outing is organized with local river knowledge, basic safety instruction, and equipment checks before departure.”
