About

Come Join us on a scenic Trail ride through the wilderness of Northern Michigan! Our trails cross over 110 acres of private property with lots of wild life to be seen.

Our Trail rides are enjoyed by all levels of riders and are at a walking pace only.

If you have children under 10 They will need to be a led rider (a guide walking their horse) also view our 30 minute ride (https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/cjstable/items/336244/?full-items=yes&flow=634985)

If you have a group and not everyone can/wants to ride a horse we can accommodate them in a wagon for the ride. Please contact stable or add additional riders to the wagon ride Waitlist

Helmets

For your safety Helmets are required and are provided by CJ's Stable. If you do have your own helmet you are welcome to bring your own ASTM F1163-Standard and SEI-certified helmet. (Winter- Wear a thin hat to fit under the helmet, make sure your hat does not have a yarn ball on top)

Recommendations

In the Summer months we recommend applying bug spray as they can be a nuisance on the trail. Long pants are recommended as it can be more comfortable in the saddle but they are not required

In the Winter Dress Warm! Hats ( make sure there is no ball on top), Gloves, Warm Pants, Jackets. It Gets Chilly!

Rider requirements

Closed-toe shoes are required ( no sandals or flip flops)

All Riders are required to Sign a Liability Release form. A Parent or Legal Guardian MUST sign for a minor.

All Trail Rides are weather permitting. If the Weather is Stormy, 85+ Degrees, Icy Etc your Ride will be rescheduled.

Adventure Tips

Wear sturdy boots

Closed-toe shoes or boots with a small heel will help keep your feet secure in the stirrups.

Bring water

Carry a water bottle especially in warmer months to stay hydrated during the ride.

Arrive early for orientation

Arriving 15 minutes prior helps you get comfortable with the horse and safety briefing.

Dress for the season

Layer your clothing to adjust to changing temperatures on the trail, especially in spring and fall.
