Departing from your accommodation your tour heads off to explore the Aqua de Pau Massif in the central part of São Miguel Island. With its impressive inner caldeira formed around 15,000 years ago and fresh water lake it measures around 2.5 x 3 kilometer and when viewed from above is simply stunning.
You'll experience the best that this region has to offer including the breathtaking viewpoint of Miradouro do Pico da Barrosa standing at 947 metres above sea level. You'll meander around the natural park of Caldeira Velha with its volcanic hot springs and warm waterfall (Why not take a dip!)
If waterfalls are your thing then we'll be sure not to miss Salto do Cabrito on the way down to the North Coast, and along the way you'll be surrounded by lush green tree lined landscapes and amazing views over the ocean.
If you're a tea lover we'll be sure to call in to one of only 2 surviving tea plantations in the whole of Europe which are both situated on this Island. You'll explore the working factory where your guide will explain the process of the tea production before sitting down to enjoy a well earned cuppa.
