Even on calm waters, wind and splashes can soak unsecured gear—keep essentials dry with waterproof bags.

Start early to avoid afternoon winds

Killarney lakes often get breezy after midday, so launch early for calmer paddling conditions.

Wear insect repellent during summer months

Mosquitoes and black flies can be active near water—bring repellent to stay comfortable.

Check weather forecasts carefully

Changing weather can create challenging paddling conditions; always be prepared and flexible with your plans.
