You will be warmly welcomed by our friendly driver who will escort you to your awaiting vehicle. We will build the itinerary around your preferred time of arrival, allowing you full flexibility. The starting location of this day tour is at your accommodation in Kilkenny, however, other pick-up points are also possible. From the medieval city of Kilkenny, your driver will take you through the rolling hills of the Kilkenny and Tipperary countryside and you will visit one of Ireland’s Ancient East’s most popular attractions – the Rock of Cashel. This is a historic site perched on an impressive hill with numerous ancient buildings such as a round tower, historic cathedral and a Celtic high cross – a fabulous photo opportunity not to be missed!

Lunchtime!

In the town of Cashel you will be able to choose from an array of local delicacies in the local pubs, cafes and restaurants. These for example offer traditional fare such as fish and chips, Shepard’s Pie or Irish lamb. Of course vegetarian options are also available.

Perhaps pair your lunch with a pint of the black stuff (be it Coca Cola or Guinness!) and get ready to move onto your next adventure, Cahir Castle. This impressive castle is situated in the small town of Cahir, which boasts a number of shops that offer genuine Irish produce.

A relaxing afternoon…

Cahir Castle is one of Ireland’s largest and best-preserved medieval structures. This ancient castle was built in the 13th century and served as the stronghold of a powerful local family. Due to its design it was believed to be impregnable, yet it fell in 1599 when heavy artillery was used against it for the first time. This and other historic facts can be experienced as part of a tour of this interesting facility. From Cahir your driver will return you safely to your point of pick up.
