About Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia is a regional Girl Scouts council based in Savannah, Georgia. The council operates historic sites, camps, and educational programs that introduce young people and families to outdoor skills, STEM learning, and the organization’s history.
At Camp Low on Rose Dhu Island the council hosts Family Adventure Day with obstacle courses, archery challenges, island biking, s’mores, games, and nature activities that create outdoor learning and family memories. In Savannah the Girl Scout First Headquarters offers a guided 30–40 minute tour and lesson in the nation’s oldest Girl Scout building. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers lead visitors through exhibits and stories that honor Juliette Gordon Low and connect local history to national and international Girl Scout culture.
The Girl Experience Center provides hands-on STEM and STEAM programming, including geocaching adventures and kit-based activities that support teamwork and curiosity for school groups and youth organizations. Programs are offered for families, troop groups, and school visits; staff and volunteers coordinate tours and activities to match group needs. Educational focus, historic preservation, and outdoor recreation are central to the council’s offerings. Visitors can book experiences that combine history, STEM, and outdoor fun in Coastal Georgia settings. Program schedules and registration information are published on the council’s website and through local partner organizations, with seasonal offerings, event calendars, reservation forms, and contact details to help visitors plan visits, group outings, and educational field trips.
