Description

What better way to grow a young person's love of nature than to get them out in it?

Camp RiverQuest is a summer program focused on connecting young people to nature through learning and play. Our camps are located in Saxapahaw, where our community spirit intersects harmoniously with the Haw River resulting in extensive hiking trails, public-use riverside spaces, and multiple well-maintained paddle accesses.

RiverQuest Adventure Camp is a weeklong (M-F), full-day summer program for kids ages 10 to 15. Each day includes riverside hikes, nature crafts, hands-on heart-based environmental education, and – of course – paddling! Campers will learn to paddle kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards through a mixture of traditional instruction and on-water games. Your kids will also learn boat rescue and river safety, plant identification, river monitoring techniques, teamwork skills, and more!

Camp sessions run Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, with additional accommodation available for early drop-off and late pick-up.
