Departing from your accommodation, your tour heads off to explore the very volcanic region of Furnas in the central part of São Miguel Island, with its picturesque lake, bubbling fumeroles, hot springs and botanical gardens.

You'll experience the best that this region has to offer in the privacy of your own vehicle including the opportunity to take a dip in a volcanically heated hot springs as well as taking a relaxing stroll around the beautiful Terra Nostra Gardens which have been established since around 1775.

If food is your thing then we'll be sure not to miss the famous Cozido Lunch (Meat and Vegetable Stew slow cooked for 6-8 hours inside a volcanic steam vent) simply delicious!

If you're a water lover we'll get the chance to try a selection of the naturally flowing mineral water that is available at several fountains around the town.
