Explore East Clare and Lough Derg by eBike: Guided Tours from Red Door Cottage

The following Red Door Cottage guided eBike tours are available for guests of all ages (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult), and are limited to a maximum of 6 guests per tour group.

The price is €75 per guest including an eBike which are available in sizes small, medium and large. A family group rate is available at a price of €250 for 2 adults and 2 under-18s. Please note that under-18s must be tall enough for the small bike (5'1" / 155cm minimum)

As an optional extra, you can keep your eBike after your guided tour for up to three days at a special rental price of €40 per day. Please indicate in the booking whether you would like to avail of this offer.

If you would like to keep your eBike for longer than 3 days please speak with Lough Derg eBike Tours and we will do our best to accommodate.

The Red Door Cottage guided tour options are:

1. Hills, Crafts and Coffee (3 hours) - Travel through the hills of East Clare to the historic market towns of Tuamgraney and Scarriff. Visit one or more out of East Clare Co-operative, Wilde Irish Chocolates or McKernan Woollen Mill, and/or stop for a coffee before heading back to Killaloe via the Lough Derg shore. For those who are not confident with the hilly terrain around Red Door Cottage this tour can be started from Ballina instead of Red Door Cottage.

2. The 3 Counties Shannon Tour (3 hours) - Explore the banks of the Shannon at the Southern end of Lough Derg, pausing for a coffee in Birdhill and visiting Parteen Weir along the way. For those who are not confident with the hilly terrain around Red Door Cottage this tour can be started from Ballina instead of Red Door Cottage.

3. Garrykennedy and Uplands (4 hours) - From your accommodation, head up through the beautiful Arras range to the Graves of the Leinstermen. Then head downhill to visit beautiful Garrykennedy and Castlelough on the Lough Derg shore of North Tipperary, Ireland. Then return via the valleys of the Arra mountain range. Please note that this tour includes some steep climbs, but these are manageable for the moderately fit with your high powered eBike.
