We know driving in winter can be intimidating. Rest easy as you enjoy a comfortable ride down one of the most scenic highways in the world while your local guide shares their knowledge of the history of our area. Learn the legend of the origins of winter in Alaska! Upon arriving at the Wildlife Conservation Center, your guide will lead you around the 1.5 mile loop through 200 picturesque acres of animal enclosures, sharing information about the various wildlife. Don't worry, we'll save time to check out the gift shop! The drive back to Anchorage will take place as the sun is setting, providing breathtaking views with towering mountains to one side & the icy waters of the Turnagain Arm to the other. We will stop at various viewpoints for the best photo opportunities. The Turnagain Arm is a must-see any time of year, but it holds a different charm in the winter that is guaranteed to dazzle! If time and weather permits, we may stop at some additional viewpoints in Anchorage before returning to your drop-off location.
Note: We meet all guests at the Dena'ina Center, but you can choose to be dropped off either at the Dena'ina Center or at a local Anchorage hotel. Please note which hotel you're staying during checkout.
