Friends of Two Rivers is a volunteer-led organization in Nashville, Tennessee, dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and sharing the layered history of Two Rivers Mansion and the adjacent 1802 House. The organization offers guided tours and public programs that explore three generations of the McGavock family, the architecture and art of a well-preserved Italianate mansion, and the broader local stories that shaped antebellum and postbellum Nashville.
Tours range from general historic and architectural walks to focused programs on enslaved lives, Indigenous peoples, Irish immigrant stories, and cemetery history at nearby Mt. Olivet. Seasonal and themed offerings include Holiday Tours, All Hallows Eve events, after-dark editions with ghost-hunting elements, and an overnight Paranormal Investigative Experience. The Spirit of Two Rivers After Dark Edition is scheduled October 16–18, 2026, as part of the seasonal lineup.
Interpretation emphasizes factual history and respectful presentation. Educational content helps visitors gain vocabulary and context to understand difficult chapters such as the plantation system and enslavement.
