Celebrate the 2025 holiday season on FDR's historic Floating White House, fully decorated in holiday lights and finery.

Named in honor of FDR's beloved Scottish Terrier, Fala, our very special Fala-La Holiday Cruise on the bay will be on Saturday, Dec 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., rain or shine.

This unique, adults-only holiday celebration will offer you beautiful nighttime views of the San Francisco skyline as you enjoy desserts and libations in the spirit of the season. Wine, beer and champagne will be available for purchase, and coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water are complimentary.

The ship departs promptly at 6 p.m. and will return to the dock at 8 p.m. If it is raining, the captain my elect to cruise in more protected inner bay areas. There are plenty of inside spaces and covered areas. All part of the adventure of a cruise on FDR's famous Floating White House!

Arrive 45 minutes before departure to begin your evening with a 15-minute movie in the Visitor Center. The video provides a glimpse of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s use of the USS Potomac during his presidency, her remarkable uses and history following his death in 1945, and her restoration story. After boarding, guests may also elect to have a docent-led tour of the ship as we are underway.

This is a casual fun cruise so dress warmly and comfortable in layers. We will be on the bay and you will most likely want to go outside on the decks for a portion of the cruise.

Potomac merchandise, including hats, jackets, vests, and gift items will be available for sale on the ship. Complete your holiday shopping with Potomac merch!

Accessibility information

The Presidential Yacht USS Potomac is a historically preserved vessel. As such, it does not fully comply with the facility access standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

In a few areas of the ship, there is limited access to some individuals who are mobility impaired, depending upon their capabilities. The maximum wheelchair width (outside of wheel to outside of wheel) is 25 inches.

Chairs are available on board. Many people who use walkers and other assistive devices have successfully cruised on the Potomac. Between her three decks, there are steep stairs with hand railings. People who have some mobility challenges will need to assess their own capabilities for using these stairs safely.

Wheelchairs are limited to the main deck only where there is still much to see, experience, and enjoy. Due to raised thresholds at their doorways, a slight step down, and narrow stalls, the restrooms unfortunately are not accessible to the wheelchair-bound. However, public restrooms are available next to the Potomac at the Ferry Landing terminal.

USS Potomac docents and crew are not allowed to provide physical assistance to mobility impaired individuals; including lifting occupied wheelchairs over obstacles.

If you have any questions, please call (510) 627-1215.
